RingetoneComing soon

Any song, video or voice memo. Your ringtone in one tap.

Pick a song you have as a file, the sound from a video, or record something. Ringetone finds the loudest part, you trim it to 30 seconds with a finger and add a fade, and your iPhone takes it as a ringtone or text tone.

From any sound to your ringtone

Three steps, and the last one is a single tap.

  1. 1
    Music and filesVideoRecord

    Pick the sound

A song from Files, the sound from a video in your photos, a voice memo, or something you record on the spot. Other apps can send a file straight to Ringetone too.

    Fade out

    Trim the best part

Ringetone starts on the loudest stretch, usually the chorus. Drag it where you want it, nudge the start and end by a tenth of a second, and add a fade in and out. It plays on a loop while you adjust.

    Use as Ringtone

    Tap Use as Ringtone

On iOS 26 and later, one tap hands the tone to your iPhone. Make it your ringtone or text tone, or give it to one person in Contacts.

Your tones, kept for later

Every tone you make stays in the app. Play it, hand it to iOS again, or open it and trim it differently: Ringetone keeps the original sound, so nothing is lost.

Good to know before you start

30 seconds is the iPhone’s limit

iOS doesn’t take ringtones longer than 30 seconds, so Ringetone stops you there. A text tone can be up to 5 seconds, plenty for a ping.

Apple Music songs can’t be used

Songs from Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming services are copy-protected, and no app can turn them into a ringtone. Songs you have as a file, videos and recordings all work.

One tap needs iOS 26

From iOS 26, Use as Ringtone is right in the share sheet. On iOS 17 and 18, Ringetone walks you through the GarageBand route instead. It takes a minute longer.

Nothing leaves your iPhone.

Your songs, videos and recordings are trimmed on the iPhone itself. Ringetone works offline, has no account and sends nothing anywhere. In App Store terms: Data Not Collected.

  • Works offline
  • No account
  • Microphone only when you record
  • No ads, no tracking

No weekly subscription for a ringtone.

Ringetone costs $1.99, once. No account, no ads, no tracking, and your songs and recordings never leave your iPhone.

That’s all it ever costs. Every feature and every future update is included, and so are the extra app icons. No subscription, nothing to unlock later, and if something’s wrong, you write straight to Peter, who made it.

Questions

How do I make a ringtone from a video?

Tap Video in Ringetone and pick the video from your photos. Ringetone takes the sound out of it and starts on the loudest part. Trim it to 30 seconds or less, save, and tap Use as Ringtone.

Can I use a voice memo as a ringtone?

Yes. In Voice Memos, share the recording to Ringetone, or save it to Files and pick it under Music and files. You can also record straight into Ringetone, up to 5 minutes, and trim the best bit.

Why can’t I use Apple Music songs?

Songs from Apple Music, Spotify and other streaming services are copy-protected (DRM), even when they’re downloaded for offline listening. iOS won’t let any app read their sound, so no ringtone app can use them. Songs you have as a plain file, like MP3, M4A or WAV in Files, work fine.

How long can a ringtone be?

Up to 30 seconds. That’s a limit in iOS, not in Ringetone. Text tones are kept to 5 seconds at most, so they don’t drag on.

How do I give a contact its own ringtone?

Open the contact in Contacts, tap Edit, then Ringtone, and pick your tone: the ones you’ve added are at the top of the list. Text Tone works the same way.

Does Ringetone come with ready-made ringtones?

No. Ringetone is for making tones from your own sounds: songs you have, videos, voice memos and recordings. There’s no catalogue to scroll through and nothing to download.

Which iPhones does it work on?

Any iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The one-tap Use as Ringtone needs iOS 26 or later; on older versions, Ringetone shows you the GarageBand route.

Is it a subscription?

No. Ringetone costs $1.99, once. There’s no subscription, no in-app purchases and no ads.
